What is CBBC’s Rep Office?

 

Setting up a representative Office in China can be a laborious task. CBBC’s Representative Office Service streamlines the set-up procedure, assists you through every aspect of the process (which may take 10-12 weeks) and frees you up to concentrate on other key areas of business development.

Is a Rep Office Right for You?

A Representative Office in China provides a legal presence in China with a fully registered premises and brand name. However, a Representative Office is not allowed to engage in direct business activities. Permitted activities are limited to the likes of business liaison; marketing and research. However, the supervision and administration of Representative Office by the Chinese authorities has recently been strengthened and applications are coming under greater scrutiny.

Registration certificates need to be renewed annually and the number of representatives is restricted. Representatives now have to pay corporate income tax. Representative offices are therefore not always the convenient choice they once were, but are still suitable in some scenarios and for some sectors.

Overseeing application for the business license and registration with relevant tax, customs and Forex authorities etc, ensuring that documents are completed correctly and meet the requirements of the approvals board, and submitting them to the relevant organisation.

How much does it cost?

  • CBBC management fee is £2200
  • Additional third party supplier fees e.g. agency and government fees, can differ according to location. CBBC can provide a quotation according to your exact requirements.

Note: During Rep Office set up, CBBC can provide a temporary base for staff under its Hot Desk scheme.
